Intuitive Eating vs. Calorie Counting

There’s an ongoing, never-ending war in the dieting world!

In the red corner, you have the Intuitive Eaters. People are struggling with their weight and no diet has worked for them. According to them, that’s exactly why they can’t keep off the weight!

“Stop messing around with diets and rules that never last. Start learning how to eat intuitively instead!”

In the blue corner, you have the Calorie Counters. People are struggling with their weight because they don’t know how much they eat and how much they should eat.

“Stop messing with your intuition. It’s obviously not working. Track your food like your money!”

If you’re a reasonable person, both sides seem to have good points!

And that’s exactly why this is an ongoing, never-ending war.

Neither side is 100% right or wrong.

I proved this point with my own reputation on the line by covering both dieting strategies on my YouTube channel.

Why? They’re both legitimate dieting strategies and both will work when done correctly.

…as long as you choose the one that’s right for you.

Intuitive Eating

This should be self-explanatory. It’s all about dieting without dieting.

You’re not following any specific diet and you don’t count calories. You just eat how you want to eat.

I’ve been doing this for about 3 months now since my son was born with great results. I’m about 15lbs lighter now.

My short-term goals drove my decision: I’m not trying to be bodybuilder lean, I don’t care to follow a named diet or count calories right now, and I know I can avoid getting fat without the extra work.

As long as I can eat good food and stay in good shape, I’m happy.

Calorie Counting

This is the dieting strategy everyone wants to avoid. It’s too much work, I get it.

The thing is, it’s also the most guaranteed way to get visible results.

It’s like trying to solve your money problems with intuitive budgeting.

If your intuition was any good, you wouldn’t need to budget in the first place.

If you’ve tried every diet and none of them have gotten you the results you wanted, you literally have nothing to lose by counting calories.

Obviously, there’s more upfront work to do here than there is with calorie counting.

But that’s exactly why I guarantee it will work if you just do the work.
